Seems like I saw a helmet mount light somewhere a while back that didn’t need that confounded cable. I assume the battery disconnects for charging, but it all fits on top of the helmet. Might have even submitted a thread on it a while back but can’t remember. 😕 Light technology is moving as fast as bike technology, so anything new along those lines? I’ve saw a 1800 lumen light advertised the other day. 😮 Wow, blow me off the trail. 😆
I’ve only been riding seven years but have 3 light technologies -halogen, HID and LED. What next?
Been lucky enough to night ride twice this week so that made me think how much I have always hated messing with the cables.

The Niterider MiNewt 600 is completely cordless (except for charging of course).
I think dgaddis picked one of these up recently so maybe he’ll weigh in…

+1 on Maddslackers post. I loves me my Amoebas. Crazy light, very bright and very rugged. I went with two, one for the helmet and one for the bars, but either’or would have been adequate.

Thanks for the update all. Looks like an amoebe light is on this fall’s santa wish list. 😃

Bumped into this one this morning. Don’t know much about the company. 800 lumens sounds good though.

CraigCreekRider, did you look at the different lights that they have? The titan seems to be a step up (900 lumens) and is only $100, plus it claims a 4+ hour battery life on the high setting. Anyone know anything about these lights? It almost seems too good to be true.

The Titan looks very similar to the MagicShine in both price and performance:

Yep, look for a full review on the blog soon. Spoiler Alert: I like it a lot. Not just for riding either.

I didn’t see it this morning but have gone back and checked it out. Definitely a better bargain for the money. Curious how heavy the battery is though. I have one Lithium ion battery for my niterider light – and that thing weighs a ton (in grams). Don’t want too much weight on the helmet.
