Hello Everybody,
I’m new to biking and recently was given a Trek 3700. My rear wheel is bent and needs to be replaced. Can anybody link me a good wheel to use? I’m confused on what type of wheel to get and disc brakes?
its a 2012 trek 3700
thanks, new to this.

are you saying it has disc brakes or you want to convert to disc brakes?

Mavic Crossride wheels for $119. you can also use handbuilt XC717 for your bike. this awesome wheelset.

I second the Mavic Crossride suggestion. Very capable wheelset for the price. Straight pull spokes, QC standard, disc only (standard 5 bolt). Probably a little wider (internal) that you have now, so tires will be effectively a little wider (not a bad thing). Shimano and SRAM hub standards available. And yes, they are available new in 26″.

Hi, I have on older trek 3700 with disc up front and rim breaks in the back. I bent the front wheel and found a replacement on Craigslist for 20 bucks.
With all the standards out there it gets confusing.
With disc brakes you’ll want to find a QR rear wheel, not QR15. QR wheels take a standard older style quick release skewer. Higher range MTN bikes take a beefier 15mm skewer(QR15). You’ll want to double check which kind you have.
I’d search craigslist for a decent wheelset if I were you. The stock wheels can bend under hard cornering of rough riding. Don’t spend too much as 26in wheels are considered outdated and you can get a decent set for 40-50$. Most 26 in wheels will take a Shimano cassette
