looking to see if there is a good dh/freeride, cross, fixed, scene in the area… i understand thats alot of categories, but info on 1 is better than none. what is the ideal bike for the aggresive riding in the area? how much travel etc? im used to dry deserty big rocks, drops, etc. i ask because im lookin at either getting a reign X1 or glory depending on what the area has since i sold my last rig. also, im heading out to visit end of march, any recomendations on bike shops to check out, for good info, or for jobs?
      thanks

i just moved here in sept and i reckon im into the same kinda riding.. dh/fr/agressive whatever 😛 for local riding you’d be fine with a nice reign would do ya right.. im on a giant ac with 6.5 and i like to ride pretty hard.

There are some nice trails in the cheyenne canyon area seems like, and the resorts are like, +-2.5hrs away for proper DH. I havent ridden much, i got here in Sept, and my bikes arrived in Nov so snow has been in the higher elevation the majority of the time i’ve been here.

If u wanna ride or somethin when you visit, pm me or whatever.. im fairly new to town, but we’ll see what we can get into B)

I’ve been here since October from VA. I’ve been riding only around town (Ute Vally, Palmer Park) since then. I only got a front suspension and a crappy shifter so I’m pretty limited until I get in much better shape. Send me a PM if you wanna go for a ride around town. Im also unemployed so Ive got a lot time to kill.

Between the Glory and the Reign, the Reign is the only way to go. Durability might be questionable on the Reign at Keystone (if they open this year) and Sol Vista, but it will still perform. The Front Range (C Springs, Denver, and Fort Collins among others) is way more all-mountain. The Glory will turn most of the Front Range trails in to pavement. The better trails will require you to push or pedal your ass up hill, so the weight savings on the Reign will be worth it. When I decided that the 6.5 inches of travel on my Astrix Stryke was too much for the Front Range, I looked long and hard at a Trance X. I just wasn’t sure if it could take the beating that I put a frame through. If I had to cut down to one bike for all of the riding between the Front Range and Moab, I would either go Giant Reign or Norco Six.
