Hey Guys,
I’m taking a vacation to Oregon July 14th thru 21st, whilst I’m there I just gotta hit the trails and was thinking about doing a 1-day training clinic to get my head back in and to meet other riders.
I’ve been off the saddle for getting on a year after moving from North West England to Fort Worth Texas. 12 months ago I would have considered myself reasonably capable with regular rides in the Lake District and trail centres; my favourite being Bike Park Wales – if you’ve riden there you’ll know why its my favourite, that said I guess my view will change once I start to explore America!
So if you know of, or heard of a good training center around Portland – please shout out. Failing that, it would be awesome to hear your views on trails around that area.
Looking forward to hearing back – Cheers!

As far as official clinics, not many (none?) that I know of in Portland area. There are a handful upstate WA near Seattle. I could comment on Oregon riding, but not sure exactly what you’re looking for. If you’ve some time, I wrote a big series on Hood River last year.
Start here:
The Hood Report: Shedding Light on the Shadows of Mount Hood
Theres also some great trails in SW WA just across the river. Bend and Oakridge are 2-3 hours away if you’re looking to go beyond PDX
