I want to buy my husband a gift certificate for a guide in Moab.  He’s a strong rider, probably advanced level.  Please send recommendations!

If your husband is an advanced rider, he might prefer to skip the guide and just take a shuttle service with a friend. Pretty much every shop in Moab offers shuttles, and the most popular route is called the Whole Enchilada. I’ve used Poison Spider and they are good.

      Great gift idea!

Oddly enough I find myself agreeing with @JeffBarber above even though IRL he’d likely want to punch me and vice versa. Whole Enchilada Shuttle Co.  are who we used and they were awesome.

Yep.  I’ve been twice and have been pretty much on my own.  He’ll want shuttle gift certificates (Whole Enchilada & Mag 7)  Trails don’t really need a guide, a buddy would be nice.  Or tickets to an event like Outerbike which has 3 days of shuttles and bike demos (if the timing works out.)

      Another gift idea, MAPS!

Several kinds of guide books and maps are available in advance of your arrival with the following Moab places. A favorite is the Latitude 40 series. Start with the Moab West map. Or buy a map in person when you arrive.

For Mountain Biking, http://discovermoab.com/biking.htm has maps to print and bring along or buy those trail maps from local bike shops for $2-3 each. Money goes to the Moab Trail Mix, the volunteer organization building and maintaining, non-motorized trails.

      Happy Holidays 🙂
