just wanted to say hey to everyone. went out riding today. i ride at flat rock in columbus, georgia with spazjensen. i showed him all the reasons not to jump so big your landing involves landing into a tree. OUCH! sould have pictures up soon. i will point out the one that looks good in the air but ended with me wraped up in my bike after boucing off of a tree.

Welcome to the forum Combo. As the old George of the Jungle cartoon jingle went – "Watch out for that tree" hehehehe. Man, those things just don’t flex much. Hope you recover OK, and at least its funny for you – now. Welcome aboard. CCR

Your right about the accidents bro! I have been down a total of five months this year alone, and I normally never have accidents even though I do get a little wild at times with my freeriding. Say hey to Spaz for me bro and let him know that there is no rush on the bashguard.
Keep it real and ride hard![/quote:29joz6ml]
HAHA. man you nailed that tree so good. i think the tree was even hurtin a little from it. i’ll get those pics to you soon. i almost did the same thing as you on that same jump but landed weird on the seat which cuased my bike to turn. the back of my leg is pretty sore from that landing to. but no where near as sore as you are. any word from the bike shop yet on your bike?

yeah i hit that tree! but how about that air? and after that air and distance and landing on the front tire right at the tree your pretty much committed. it’s just to bad that we were taking pitures and not video.

yeah you hit it good and hard….mmmm no dirty thoughts there intended….in one of the pics you see my bike a few feet in the background behind you and you would have easily cleared it and the picnic table, at least the heighth of the table. its to bad that your bike won’t be ready cuz if it don’t rain i’m gonna try to get the guys to ride either this sunday, or maybe tuesday even. or are you gonna break out the old mongoose?

not sure i’ve been wonder about that. i don’t want to be down to long. he did make it sound like it would be done by then. as far as me goes i was ready to stay on the trail! my bike was/is a different story?

it was a pine tree so it didn’t taste to good. but i’m ready to get back out there and ride by them! just not into them? hitting things that just don’t move gets painful and can take away from ride time and money 😢

i’m glad he survived and stuck with it at a young age. and i hope none of them were real bad. my son is now 13 and i’ve took him riding a few times. you’ve heard of people push their bike uphills; my son pushes his not only up the hill but also down it? but the first time i took him he did go over the handle bars a few times(7 that we know of)but he still didn’t do hills before he started flipping 😮

i don’t try to push him or embarras him. i just know how fun biking is and i ask him just try riding down(it’s not big hills). if he’ll just start down and use his brakes to keep it slow(comfortable)he’ll get use to it and it’ll be a blast. ok that sounds like i’m trying to get a kid to take candy from a stranger? but it isn’t like that. he is my son and i’m trying to get us something to go do together and i could use the exercise!

no the wife doesn’t go. she use to. we have in columbus,ga. the river walk. yes it has walk in the name but it is paved and plenty of room for all to share. it mostly has biking signs up though. when she went there i had to pull her along a peice.she would grab my arm and i would peddle. she just isn’t interested in going anymore. i forgot to mention also my son will not change GEARS. i’m still trying though!

man we know that you weren’t saying that. that is how its is with most people on here. some of their significant others may like riding, but most are on their own when it comes to within the fam. but we understand shy you want to clear it up.
hey is that bike due back in in your hands soon? we gotta go ride this weekend hopefully.

one tree was more than enough for me. but on the trail some times they just jump out in front of you and stand there then you have no other options. 😳

Hmmm…I guess extreme tree hugging and mountain biking don’t mix…I know that one..
Hey Chilly maybe that could be one to add into the definitions… Extreme tree hugging- An attempt at avoiding a tree when cycling at speed but failing. Thus involving at a collison between cyclist and tree…Usually the cyclist looses.

not so much. a good scar does make a good story to tell, so long as its not gross to the person whom its being told to. most of the time they will either say one of two things:
1. Do you still do [i:1oo9f43q]what ever made you get it[/i:1oo9f43q]
and depending on your answer to the first you might get this
2. Well did you learn your lesson?
If no I still do it, they might say well that’s pretty dumb isn’t (women don’t understand most of the time)
If yes then you deny yourself the fun you had getting that scar and you become a pansy rider.
This all is a JOKE to all of you, but really happened in my case with the scar on my head. I answered NO, and am still having fun on my bike. but I am thought of as MTB junkie who does stupid things and gets hurt just to try it again.
AND THAT’S JUST FINE IN MY LINE OF REASONING 😬 😬 😬 😬 😼

yeah i thought so. my wife doesn’t care about any of mine. i guess it is a guy thing. a badge of fun or sign of thoughtless moment. 😼 😏
