Does anyone have any experience with either of these in wet fall conditions on trails?

I love my Ardent. I live in a relatively dry area, but on the rare occasion when things get wet, it has served me well.
The Nobby Nic is noticeably lighter, but not as confidence inspiring in any conditions. It’s a tradeoff.
As a heavy rider, I find the Schwalbe’s to be flexy in hard cornering and I have shredded Nobby Nic sidewalls while the Ardent has been indestructible and long lasting. In fact, every Maxxis I’ve ever owned has been extremely long lasting, always outlasting similar offerings by any other brand I’ve run, including Schwalbe, Kenda, Continental, Specialized, Panaracer, Intense and Geax.

Wow great response man. My buddy has Ardents on his Rocky Mountain: I tried them an they were WAY grippier then my Michelin Wild Grip’R in slick dirt. Weird because the tread pattern is almost identical. (Guess this is where composition is big) I’ve heard good and bad about the Nobby Nics so it’s great to get some info from someone who has used them. Great stuff.

Ardent grips very well no matter is it in Colorado, Midwest or on moss-covered rocks of Pennsylvania. The only thing is transition knobs between center and side are relatively small and cornering feels sketchy before you get used to it. otherwise it’s a great do-it-all tire that will last for a long time.
