Is anyone else experiencing this bug? When you save to (export) to GPX file the application crashes? The version is 6.15.6
I emailed Garmin and they said that it was something wrong with my computer (bu11$hit) and when I pushed back they said I had to call Tech Support so that they could trouble shoot the problem – who has time for that?

Yep. Exact same bug though it started for me with 6.154.
After bouncing emails for awhile, they concluded there was a bug, and that I should fall back to a prior stable version, which I had already done, and wait until they sort it out. I’m still waiting… (Wow, pretty impressive support.)Here’s the final blurb from support.. Note that 6.141 is also stable.
KMM12209686I15977L0KMThank you for contacting Garmin International. I would be happy to assist you. I had a call today with a customer who had a problem transferring waypoints to his unit. Doing a remote session on his computer I found that it was the same problem you are having, which is generating the .gpx files. I was able to import his waypoint file to my computer and generate a new file for him just fine. I would suggest at this point that you roll your mapsource version back to 6.13.7 linked below until we can further isolate the problem and come out with a fix.

Yeah, only I don’t think I have the previous version installed.

Looks like that link they provided for 6.137 doesn’t work anymore either. It now gives 6.156. 😢
I found this a minute ago however – 6.141 and 6.137 are both available from the following site.

It’s frustrating that they can’t fix this problem. There does seem to be a fairly simple work-around. Before you import from your GPSr, you need to first open (with MapSource) an existing GPX file. Then to clear the file, select File > New and then import the data from your GPSr. You should then be able to save the data as a GPX file or as a GDB file and then a GPX file. There’s a fairly long thread in the GroundSpeak forum. My post is at:

You should be able to read in from the Garmin directly, or the native Garmin file format and then convert it to GPX with GPS Babel
