So I was on a three day bike trip doing just about every trail there is between Montgomery, AL and West Point, GA camping and drinking beer last weekend (which may I say was a total blast with all eight of us). During the second day we are riding a 8 mile in-and-out trail. Along the trail there are what I guess you could call some small FR/DH sections (fast flowing down grade with some 3’kickers and small drops, like little one and two footers). Half way in the trail and hitting some these small stunts my rear shock starts making a loud and very reconizable squawk every time I land. Its a Fox Vanilla shock w/ a 550/2.5 coil (nothing special). It just started doing it. It didn’t really affect the ride quality any and nothing appears to be leaking out or busted from a visual. Its just that the sound makes me think something is going on.
Has anyone had this problem before or heard of it. If so recommends on what it is or if it needs to be fixed would be appreciated.

I doubt very seriously that I bent somthing. To be honest, and kinda of embaressed about it 😳 , I have never had it oiled before. What would it take to do this or would I have to go the shop for it?

Does it kinda sound like stepping on a duck? Not that I ever stepped on a duck….on purpose.
I’ve had that before on a relatively new bike/shock and it seems to have gone away.
