*looking for* Road trip from Florida to Downhill track

I am going to be leaving from Florida. I want to know the best place to go downhill mountain biking that isn’t too far away. I want to do it at a ski resort so that I can use a lift and ride mostly downhill to maximize my time. I did this in Whistler, and it was amazing. I want to do it again. Also, I would need to rent a bike. Where is the best place to go?

That really depends on what your definition of “too far away” is. The closest resort riding to you would probably be in Western NC – Beech Mountain, Bailey MTB Park. I haven’t ridden either yet, so I can’t comment on how rad they are, but the videos of them look promising.

Snowshoe in West Virginia is a proper resort, although that’s a haul. From Atlanta it’s an 8-9 hour drive.
