If you’ve been on Jenson USA lately, you’ve probably seen the Focus Bikes they started carrying. I thought they were pretty cool looking bikes so I went to their website and started checking out their rigs. I was looking at their their Thunder all mountain bike and thought wow, this looks really familiar. Once I noticed the Knuckle Box I was like "Whoa, that’s a Sortie!"
2011 Focus Thunder 1.0
My 2011 Sortie Black BuildI guess Focus a German company and is owned by Derby and apparently Derby owns Raleigh, which of course owns Diamondback. Focus bills the Thunder as their AM bike while the Sortie is trail focused by DB. I thought that was interesting as I built my Sortie leaning towards AM with the KS dropper seatpost, Havoc wheelset and stem, and slightly more travel at 140mm. I wanted to compare pricing but both sites don’t list MSRP. Jenson doesn’t carry the Sorties, but they carry both the DB Mission and the Focus Project which are basically the same bikes! Weird!

Yep, Focus is a divison of Derby Cycles, but I dunno if they own Raleigh too. All of those companies are located at Germany. I didn’t knew, they sell them at the US
