Loctite in Brake Lever

So upon the LBS reccomendation to use loctite to keep my reach adjustment from comming undone I managed to get loctite somewhere inside the lever and now it does not return normally. The lever gets stuck about 3/4 of the way out and I have to manually move it all the way out. This is rather annoying and unsafe to do while underway. I’ve used lube, degreaser, etc with no luck. Any ideas to break up the loctite inside the level. Torch?

      Thanks

Sorry to say but taking it apart and cleaning it off the parts is the only way. No spray quick fix will work. Locktight is good stuff except when it is in wrong place. If you can when it is apart lock tight the screw. Be sure you are not using the red locktight or next time it’ll be mcylinder time. Be carefull with chemicals, the stuff on the sugar cubes in the 60s messed me up. 😄 Later,

Like billy mentioned. Your going to have to take things appart and clean them up.

In some cases Loctite has been known to eat away at some plasitcs so that may be an issue. depending on the material that the lever is made from.

Once taken appart clean things up and re-apply Loctite only on the threads of the screw.

      Cheers
