I was wondering what the normal number of bikes per rider you have, my parents are trying to tell me i have too many and that me wanting to buy another is just ludicrous. but i want a Full Susser All-Mountain bike preferably a Trek Remedy8(haha i wish those go for more than some cars) and some kind of dirt jump/trials/urban ride bike.

      I have 3

2009 Trek3900Disc with Mallet2 pedals, Avid BB7’s ODI rogue grips and soon i think i will add some Panaracer fire XC tires in red.

A Mongoose BMX bike that i am unsure of the year or model, i got it for free and just use it to mess around in the neighborhood.

and recently i was given a 2006 Specialized Allez Sport as a graduation gift, which i must say is pretty sweet i used to hate riding on the road but have a real road bike is pretty nice.

I consider myself lucky to have the 1 bike I do at the moment.

    • #90579

I have one, that is if you do not include my wife’s bike or the one I’ve been fixing up for a friend that has been sitting in my garage for the last month.

Gary Fisher Wahoo G2 hardtail 2009 with loads of upgrades.

I plans to add a FS trail bike to my fleet next year.

    • #90580

I have three that I call mine.

My primary is the Cannondale Rush SL 5z. She’s great on the singletrack in the Augusta, GA area (FATS, Modoc, Kegcreek, the whole list).

My backup and loaner is a HM Snakehead full suspension. It’s heavy and lowend, but it got the job done.

The last is a Schwinn BMX that I cruise the nieghborhood on and hit the park every now and then.

    • #90581

      I have a Haro Flightline 3dx.

I want to add a Cannondale Lefty or Cannondale Rize next year.

I havent decided on FS or hardtail yet. Dont really NEED a FS around here IMO.

    • #90582

      My previous setup was:

1 mountain bike: Garyfisher Piranha 09
      1 Road Bike: Cannondale 2000ish

      my new setup is:

Mountain bike: Specialized Epic Marathon 07
Road/CX bike: Kona Major Jake 07

I looked at my recorded trips stats on allsportgps, and i found that im basically splitting duty between the 2 at 50%

You have to count roadies too right? Then 6 is the number…
      MTB
      Orbea Alma World Cup 29er-XTR
      Scott Spark 20-XT
      Santa Cruz Blur LT2-Sram XO

      Roadie:
      DeRosa King-Sram Red
      Felt DA TT-Dura-Ace
Giant Bowery fixie for riding on the miserable wet days.

      For whatever mood I’m in.
      Cheers, D

    • #90584

      Three:

      1. 1999 Trek 7000 ZX

      2. 2008 Trek Fuel EX8

      3. 2009 Trek 2.1

If I had any spare $$$, I would love to add a 29er; maybe a Gary Fisher Rumblefish? But that’s not going to happen anytime soon… 😢

    • #90585

      1 here
suped up trek 3900 disc hardtail w/ rockshox argosy 318 fork, answer riser bars, avid bb7 brakes, wtb rocket v saddle, azonic outlaws w/ wtb velociraptors, raceface respond crankset and crankbrothers 50/50xx pedals.

i love the way i fit on this bike frame. i tried many bikes in the $500 – $1200 range and the 16" trek 3900 felt best to me.

    • #90586

I have two bikes that I ride:

2008 Niner Air9 – rigid 29er with carbon fork, Deore XT drivetrain
2003 Bianchi Pista – SS commuter bike

But my girlfriends bikes are also in my fleet (that is to say, I am the one doing the maintenance):

2007 Gary Fisher Cobia – SS 29er with Tora 318 solo air fork, pastel pink
2002 Trek 3500 – small enough to be a kids bike

And I have half of a road bike in the making, but its still missing a frame. I’m considering selling my car to get another MTB. But that might be a little nuts. I’m happy to have just one.

    • #90587

Just one for me. Rigid 29er. Currently set up 1×9, but usually set up single speed.

    • #90588

I have two, but my primary (newest) bike is a GF Tassajara. Pretty much stock except for seat and tires. I gotta get some new grips too. Besides that I have a 10+ year old Specialized HardRock rigid. It doesn’t get much love these days, but I have plans…

    • #90589

      2

      Specialized Hardrock Sport

Santa Cruz Blur LT (my baby)

Next bike will be a road or cyclo-cross. After that, maybe a 29er a few years from now. 😆 Wow, I’ve already justified buying 2 more bikes, just like that. 😆

CCR, is that the Blur in all those pics you post? My buddy just got a Blur a while back. Seems to be liking it. Trying to get me to go FS. That’s funny about justifying more bikes, because the same friend keeps talking about how we have to get this kinda bike, that kinda bike, etc. to round out our quivers (sorry, surfing reference, but it was the best I could come up with).

    • #90591

i have one mtb and one road. mtb:95 or 96 not sure of yr. univega. road bike: 2005 orbea volata.

    • #90592

      Can I vote for 1 and a 1/2 ?? 😆

      Main bike
Schwinn Alum Comp [i:3b6s63tv](yeah, yeah, I know it’s a Wally World bike 😏 )[/i:3b6s63tv]. But then this ain’t your ordinary dept store bike. I was my brother-in-law’s bike which he had upgraded by a LBS (new crank set, better derailleur, better brakes, etc…). He gave it to me for my birthday after he bought new Trek police bike, for both duty and off-duty.

      Backup/Project bike/$25 yard sale P.O.S.
Triax vbx3000 (never heard of it). It is a 21 speed mountain bike, unknown year. I picked it up last weekend at a yardsale. I figured I could make it into something. $25 bucks…hey, I couldn’t pass it up. The rear brakes are shot, and rear derailleur is horribly rusted up, and the front tire loses air, and the front fork suspension looks rusted too. Who knows… Maybe with a little TLC I might be able to make this into a pretty sweet ride.

    • #90593

2 right now, but only 1 in half-ways working order (the new Airborne).

    • #90594

The new Airborne is only in half working order? What happened?

    • #90595

It was supposed to come with a "pro-build" aka almost completely ready to ride out of the box, just throw the wheels on and go. Let’s just say that I hope Airborne doesn’t stay with the company that they are distributing through for very long… their "master mechanic" is nothing of a master at all.

My advice to anyone buying off of GiantNerd.com: Just buy the bike and pay your LBS to assemble it. Their pro-less "probuild" costs $50. Give that to your LBS instead and get a real mechanic.

(GiantNerd is the company distributing Airborne bikes for the first year. They aren’t actually a part of Airborne.)

1 bike, 2009 Specialized Enduro Expert SL, Love it!!

I would like to pick up a Specilized Roubouix this next year, for when the snow is melting.

My girlfriend has two road bikes which I take care of.
Giant OCR2 and a Transition Expert, fully carbon Tri bike.

I have 3 and they all get used

      DH Specialized Big Hit

      Hardtail/xc Canadian Tire special

      BMX Diamondback

Best part of owning multiple bikes, when one breaks, you have another one to ride.

    • #90602

I just recently joined he 6 bike club:

      1. Giant TCR Aliance
      2. Giant TCR ADvanced
      3. Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 29
      4. Marin Hawk Hill Suped up with Bomber fork disk breaks and Deor
      5. Giant TCX 1 Cyclocross
      6. New to the stable… a 1980 Vintage Puegoet Fixie Track Bike

I really want one of those belt drive SS 29 moutain bikes next.

My wife is still trying to decide if I am married to her or my Adiction! 😆 😆

As do I. I don’t have the money or financial resources to have more than the one I do. I’ve built it up month by month over the course of a year. I doubt I’ll be having more than one for the near future.

    • #90604

      I have two. A Yeti AS-R and Niner E.M.D. 9.
