The Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Association is in the running to win a $250,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to build 3 bike parks around the Grand Junction/Fruita area. You can vote once a day through August 31 at [url:1e6i8tax]http://www.refresheverything.com/bikeparks[/url:1e6i8tax]. So far it looks like COPMOBA could use our help – they’re currently #248 and only the top 2 projects win the funding. Here’s a description of the project:

In partnership with the City of Grand Junction, the City of Fruita, the City of Palisade and the BLM – along with hundreds of kids of all ages – COPMOBA is building three developmental skills bike parks and with this funding we have the ability to make these some of the most exciting parks in the nation. These bike parks will serve the Western Slope of Colorado Residents as well as the hundreds of thousands of tourists who travel here to bike each year. It will be an area where kids and adults go to improve their bike skills in a controlled, terrain-oriented area devoted to the development of bike skills; including technique, bike handling, balance, cadence, agility, technical maneuverability and confidence. These skills translate to singletrack trail riding and help mitigate injury and risk in remote areas.
