Just a little background, I’m 35, and I’ve recently taken up biking again to get back in shape, and maybe to socialize a little. I used to bike constantly when i was younger, but injury and illness kept me away for many years, and now, weighing a s much as i do, I’m determined to climb back on and get back in shape again…

So enuff about me, whoall else is on here?

      Hey man,

Greg here, currently living in Dahlonega, GA. Been riding mountain bikes seriously since 2007, and loving every minute of it!

Hey Man great that you are getting back into riding. No one is laughing at you but there is not much gentle about mountain biking so get ready to get whipped into shape if that is your goal. Good luck and have fun!

I have no doubt that the coming months are going to whoop on me, but its becoming a necessity to get out and do it again…
Up until i was 25, I biked like everyone else my age drove. To work, to race, on road trips (id bike 75 miles to go skiing). Ect ect blah blah, so i know i can do it, its just getting over this initial hurdle and back on the road that will test me.

      Welcome aboard.
Yup the first while will beat on you….Resist the urge to over spend on upgrades until you get back into the swing of things. Glad to see you found MTB again.

      Cheers

Welcome aboard from western VA. It will hurt for a while, but then the "hurting" will start to feel good. 😆 Ride, rest , repeat.

Welcome to the site dude. Jason here. Started riding 3 years ago with asthma and obesity making my life hell. I’ve lost 80+ lbs just by riding singletrack and adopting a healthier diet. I ride every single day the weather allows…in my opinion, a bike is the ultimate tool for hapiness and health.

Welcome to mountain biking! The exercise that is so much fun and addicting, that it does not feel like a workout at all.
