If you’re curious like me about how well the improved image stabilization works on the new GoPro Hero 6 camera, check out this test from MTB Savant.
Looks like a gimbal is still the way to go. Bummer. 🙁

Not only do they have to figure out how to stabilize something so violent, to make the gimbal redundant, they would also need to solve the issue of the camera pointing in the wrong direction due to the mounting point moving and shifting. Stabilization doesn’t do much good if it’s a “buttery smooth” top tube of a bike frame you’re staring at because the rider is crouched down.
