Hello, everyone! Im trying to choose between two Oregon models 450 & 450t. Salesman at REI explained that the difference only in topo-maps preloaded in 450t and almost $100 more for it. I’m complete newb with these devices but planning on using one for biking and hiking.
Please, help, does Topo really worth of extra money or I could go with cheaper one?
Thanks in advance for input?
Edit: I’ve should mention from the beginning that both units have basemaps preinstalled. -

I think it’s only for you to decide. Personally, I’d you already have a smart phone, I’d just get a good app and use that. If you don’t have a smart phone, I’d use the money to buy one!

Thanks, Greg, for input. I do have an iPhone, but it doesn’t have signal in some remote areas, so it’s useless there. And iPhone battery drains quickly with GPS running. Even with extra battery pack, it’s still limited. Oregon works up to 18 hours on two AA batteries. And also is waterproof.
I actually already got an Oregon 450t and had it with me on Maah Daah Hey treil. Used only two pairs of rechargeable batteries in four days. And now, after using it a while, I think that Topo-map is good to have but regular base-map could work just fine.
