      Hey folks,

The Brown County Breakdown is a mountain bike ride in October at Brown County State Park (Nashville, In). The ride is a fundraiser for the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association. Riders can choose from 20, 40, 60, 75 and 100 mile routes.

The Breakdown is a family friendly event and we encourage riders of all ages. For those who are more skilled with their biking there is a special Youth Participant ticket for only $45. This is for riders 15 and under who are planning to ride 20+ miles. It includes participation in one of the biggest mountain bike rides in the Midwest, Saturday night camping, event t-shirt and hog roast ticket.

For families with younger riders or those not quite able to handle a longer route we have added a "Family Fun Ride" on Sunday as part of the event. The Family Fun Ride is a great way for families with kids or those who are not yet able to ride the Breakdown routes to join in a fun, casual ride and experience mountain biking on introductory level mountain bike trails. The ride begins at the Start/Finish location and will head directly to the introductory level Pine Loop Trail which is perfect for first time riders of all ages. Pine Loop can easily be ridden both directions and more adventurous riders can even continue on to the North Tower Connector Trail and North Tower Loop, both beginner level trails.

There is no cost for the Family Fun Ride and it is open to anyone who would like to participate, however riders do not receive an event t-shirt or hog roast ticket. These additional items can be purchased on the event registration website. http://www.bikereg.com/events/register. … ntid=11303
