I am looking to get a Specialized 2Fo clip shoe very soon. If anybody has anything to say about these shoes please let me know. Also, please suggest durable, reasonably light Enduro/DH shoes for under $200 if you have any to share.

Well, you know that old quote from Keith Bontrager, right? “Strong, light, cheap. Pick two.” Not that $200 is cheap, though.
I haven’t had any personal experience with Specialized’s 2FO shoes, but anecdotally, I hear good things. I’m a big fan of Five Ten’s shoes, they have the best rubber going. Shimano also makes some great shoes. I’ve been using the SH-M200 shoes this year, which has a stiff sole, but also has some real rubber lugs on the bottom. They are light and pretty durable, and cost less than $200. REI has them on sale for $108 right now. The only issue I’ve had with Shimano’s shoes – including these – are the buckles. I seem to snag them on rocks often.

The Sh-m200’s sound very interesting. I’ve heard good things about them. I think they might be a little too XC for me though. The 2FO clips are very durable, or so I’ve heard. However, I would have some problems with the buckles snagging on rocks. But then again, I ride in North Carolina, and we have mostly roots but there are lots of rocks up in the Pisgah area. I am also seriously considering a pair of DH five tens. I think they would really suit me. But I’ll probably end up going with the 2FOs’ though, because my LBS is a Specialized dealer. Thanks for the suggestions Aaron, its good to hear about a product from someone who rides seriously and approves them!
