I’d love to hear from some locals. I will be in Colorado Springs for most of this month for work. I will be staying on the north side of town near Pulpit Rock Park. Most of my riding will probably be after the sun has already set. Should I bring a mountain bike and expect trails to be dry and rideable or should I bring my gravel bike and explore the bike paths and roads?

Bring your bike (and lights)! There will be a little patchy ice here and there, but in-town spots like Palmer Park are generally dry year-round.

No snow to speak of in the extended forecast, and the trails are quite good locally at this time.  So the trails should be good for the next couple of weeks at least.  Check out Palmer Park, Stratton Open Space & the Chutes, Captain Jacks (a little icy on top for a while now), North Cheyenne Canyon, Cheyenne Mountain Park, Monument Open Space (misnomered on Singletracks as Mount Herman), Buffalo Creek has been rideable too, but it’s a drive (a weekend ride), and there are others. As Jeff said bring your bike, a light or two and also some warm clothes.  It gets pretty chilly quick as the sun goes down.

Colorado Springs is in great condition for riding right now, but if any storms roll in, Oil Well Flats and Pueblo Res will be open.  Don’t leave out Ute Valley Park for local riding and Red Rocks has added some great new trails.  Sneak out once or twice before the sun sets, Colorado Springs is an amazing place to ride!
