Canal Trail – Land Between the Lakes

I was planning to ride this trail very soon.

I noticed the last trail status post was "Closed" but that was a couple months ago. Is it possible that this trail is actually closed due to season, change in access/laws, flooding, etc?

I’ll be driving over an hour to check this place out, so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey EZ-E, I changed that to open maybe 2 days ago, the trail was powder dry last time I rode it (about a week and a half ago). We have been in a drought situation for the better part of the summer here. It should be fantastic except for some loose spots on the corners of the KY lake side. If you have time, don`t forget to check out the North/South trail also. If you have any questions, stop by Wood-N-Wave bike shop in Grand Rivers, KY (you go right past it on the way to the Canal Loop if you come off I24 interstate) and talk to the owner, his name is Steve, he is a great guy.

I`m about 99.99999999% sure that the trail will be open when you want to go, but, just in case you can call Wood-N-Wave and they will tell you for sure. Their # is 1-270-362-2453
