Hey i currently streetride and dirtjump bmx. but i want to well convert to freeride mtb. i have an extreme case of adrenaline frenzy. so i have been watching videos and looking at mags of freeride and downhill. bmx isnt cuttin it anymore i need that downhill fix. lol. my question or situation is where do i find a good frame that can take abuse? i honestly dont want to sign my soul away for a frame. could i use a cheaper frame and put specific parts on it? i have to have a bike that can take alot of abuse considering i crash alot. im to the point that crashing is inevitable so im not afraid of it. i appreciate any help at all. have a good one.

Welcome to the site. Mongoose is our resident FR guru so I’m sure you will find out anything you need from him. Just have to mention that the Trek Session’s are good bikes in that category that Mongoose "forgot" to mention 😄

i appreciate all your help and thanx for the welcome. my price range for right now is 500 – 1500. i dont have the best paying job. i was thinkin bout piecing the rig the together part by part. How many gears should i run? Its really weird for me to change from single gear to multi- gear but ill mange. where would a good place to look for parts and frames? thanx again
