Has anyone purchased a bike t a store out of town. The store doesn’t ship bike or at least the bike brand. So, you have it shipped through BikeFlights to your residence? Can BikeFlight have the bike picked up directly from the bike store and shipped, without you ever setting foot in that bike store? Thanks in advance.

Interesting question since LBS’s either sell online and ship, or they sell via brick and mortar storefront without shipping (they typically don’t do both). Not sure if the store would consider BikeFlights the same as any other shipper such as UPS or FedEx, etc. You’ll be asking the LBS to hand off the purchase to a shipper. Sounds like a gray area to me 🙂
If I had to do this, I’d find a contact… a MTB rider that lives in the store’s area, and pay them to pick up the bike from the shop and ship it to you via UPS (or whoever). Maybe you can find someone here on Singltracks.

I have had a LBS ship a bike to me, however I did go in store and talk to them first. I split time between Maine and Florida so I bought the bike at a shop in Maine, but had them ship it to me down in FL as it was at the end of my time in ME. Not really the same thing, but is an example of a LBS shipping a bike.
