I been a bicycle traveler off and on for years when I got the money .And it is awesome going places under your own steam no insurance no inspections for tags or nothing . But what I am getting at is the bicycle is a awesome machine. I tour with panniers tent, sleeping bag and pad, with clothes, a few supplies, and food and hit the open road It will scare the hell out of you the first time you do it not knowing what to exspect or nothing .Well with the invention of the mountain bike trails rock hopping and a lot of hospital bills .How many of you load up your bike and go camping out in like some trail off the beaten path like a weekend get away go camp fish and ride my favorite 3 things to do .And why isn’t there a section for that type of stuff on here or is it just hard core mtn biker races and patting your selves on the back for jumping the highest and going down the biggest decent in your life .And no room for the other good stuff I am not really that much into going down steep decents or jumping 10 ft in the air I am into stuff like the great divide mtn bike route more less a gravel road rider with a little trail ride mixed in .Oh I can jump hills I can ride single tracks through woods just not as fast as some of yeah do . I am not knocking nobody don’t get me wrong I joined to learn ask questions and to socialize . I didn’t see a section on the type of riding I like to do just wondering why there isn’t one.

Do you mean like biking to a camp ground? So you’d camping gear with you while you bike? :?:

No style of riding is more valid than any other. You love to ride, camp, and fish? I say go for it whenever you can! Perhaps after your next trip you can write a short article and share it with the group.

I believe there are riders on this forum that enjoy the same things you do. Sometimes it seems like the aerials and downhilling get the majority of coverage these days. Perhaps its because they are interesting to watch and can be summarized easily in a short video. But there is certainly room for a well made video or article about an epic bikepacking trip. I know I would enjoy it.
