So bike demos are few and far between in the southeast, at least some of the bigger ones. And you always hear (read) us saying, demo-demo-demo if you’re in the market for a new bike. But I just found out about this one coming up next weekend (Oct 19-21) at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte:
Even if you just bought a shiny new carbon enduro bike this summer, it’s always helpful to try other bikes to get a feel for different geometries, technology, components, etc. I think at least Specialized, Niner, Rocky Mountain, and a few other brands will be there. And it’s free!
Bonus, post a picture here of you and Jill Kintner (I think she’s leading some group rides) and I’ll hook you up with some Singletracks schwag. I really want to go ride with her!

Thank you for pointing this out. I live close to Charlotte and would have totally missed this if I did not check Singletracks!

There are large number of manufacturers that show up and do demos at Florida Fat Tire Festivals. Alafia river state park in November, and Santos in March every year. And at both you can just show up, ride trails and demo bikes no charge ($5 park entrance fee at Alafia). The charges on their websites are for the camping and extra amenities.

I plan to be at Alafia on the Sunday of the FTF, and probably both days at Santos. I live close enough to Santos to take day trips and have a good friend I stay with near Alafia, so I ride them all the time, but I like to be there when there are lots of people.
