I’m planning on making a trip to Fruita, CO this weekend to ride Saturday and Sunday. Given the short amount of time for riding, I will only be able to ride a fraction of the trails there. 😢 So, I need some advice. In your opinion, what are the top five trails in Fruita that I need to consider riding while I’m there?
I know I should spend more time there, but I can’t — yet..
Thanks in advance for the advice!

I find I can pretty much cover about all the front side of the Book Cliffs (18 mile road) trails in about a half a day. The Edge trail is about a five hour ride, but, personally, I don’t think it is worth it.
Down by the river there are lots of different loops, and you can spend the whole day there if you want. Ideally, I would recommend doing the following:
[list:1q7tybm3]Mary’s Loop
Horsethief Bench
Lion’s Loop
Troy Built Loop, around to end of Lion’s Loop
Back up Lion’s Loop to Mack Ridge
Moore Fun[/list:u:1q7tybm3] That should pretty much hammer your legs.If you have time, throw in Rustler’s loop too.
Stop by Over the Edge Sports and pick up a map (just a few bucks). You will be glad you did.

I checked with a friend, and he recommended Kokopelli’s Trail / Loma
Bring your GPS, as it’s un-tracked

Check the weather before you go. I hear they got 4 inches of rain there this last week and the trails are a mess. Could dry up by this weekend, but might not. It’s worth it to make a phone call to Over the Edge Sports to find out the latest before you go.
