Something is going on at Bear Creek. About 2.1 miles up the Bear Creek Trail, it looks like someone took a tractor and tilled up the ground. They mangled the trail too somewhat. This is at the little turn where there used to be a small yard-sized pasture before the 1st gate. Also, right before the gate the ground is tore up pretty bad also. The gate was open and the trail was pretty messed up.
I’m not sure what is going on, maybe they are building a picnic area or something. It’s just a short section and doesn’t hurt the overall Bear experience
, but it is disturbing to come up on something like this where you don’t expect it. -
Rode Bear Creek this past weekend and the section I mentioned in the first post has completely grown over with weeds. I’m not sure what the purpose of the ground work was, but now the whole area I mentioned is buried under 4 ft high weeds and grass. When you ride through this section the leaves will slap you pretty good.
