So i’m new to all this and don’t really expect to get into it much. I’m trying to get a bike that’ll make it down easy trails and occasionally a semi serious one with smaller sized jumps. What could be a bike I could look into (used off craigslist would be my guess). All I know to look for right now is something with aa very good front suspension and disk brakes. Also i’m looking at a budget of around 300ish which is ridiculous i know.

If you don’t expect to get into it and will be riding mostly beginner trails, I’d just buy any name brand hard tail bike that doesn’t look trashed that comes across CL in your price range. We could list the hundreds of options available to you theoretically(depends all on what people are selling) but With your stated expectations, you could likely get by with a big box store bike.

used Giant Revel or Specialized Hardrock should be in that range. Or if you can manage to do your own final assembly you might check bikesdirect. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/dawes/haymaker2900-29er-bikes.htm this one looks ok for starting out easy stuff.
