I am in the market for a gps unit for my bike and the Oregon and Dakota look pretty sweet. just wondering if anyone has used one or heard anything about them. Also, how these compare to the edge 705.

I have been using the Garmin Oregon on my bikes for the past 2 years.
      It is absolutely fantastic.

I travel alot on my road bike and thats where it comes in handy.

There is a bicycle mount available for it, around $15.

Creating routes, saving tracks, waypoint manager and uploading any .gpx file are just a few
of the features I find very useful. As well as having a map loaded so you know where you are.

Just recently I travelled along the Rail Trail from Cambridge to Hamilton and somehow got of course heading towards Brantford. I just selected my diner I was going to in brantford (3.14km away) which I had marked as a waypoint and on I went.

It doesn’t have the training features of the 705, but I wasn’t looking for that, I wanted the large touch screen.

Hope this helps a bit in your decision.

I recently purchased a Dakota 20 and it is a great little unit. The Garmin handlebar clamp holds the iunit in place really good.
