I know my doctor said six weeks for the shoulder to heal but I had other plans. I decided to ride last weekend Saturday I just took it easy and the shoulder felt ok not perfect but it didn’t hurt to bad. Well I enjoyed that so much I decided to try my luck on Sunday As you probably guessed I crashed not just once but three times twice on the same down hill trail the first one was not bad but the second one hurt a little I crushed my thigh muscle that kind of hurt a lot. But I got back up and started the climb out a little painfull but I manned up and got up. I was thinking about one more short loop of another trail but my leg was kind of sore. So I road the ridge to chutes trail it’s a down hill I would say its knarly but not red bull style. I was feeling good another rider even pulled over to let me pass or so he thought right as I went by I lost control and then over the bars. Now that really hurt. I was able to ride back to the car. Finally feeling a little better think I will ride in the morning.

All I can add to this is that you really should give your shoulder the time it needs to heal properly. If not, you will feel it later in your life if you push it like that. Fact is, I used to be the exact same way when I was younger, doing wild things, and insane FR when I should have been home healing. I am now paying for it!!! 😠 😉

While in the Air Force, I was stationed in Minot, ND. Not much riding there, but I was a mere 2:45 from the northern tip of the Maah Daah Hey trail. One day, I was descending a steep, rutted section, got my front wheel sideways in a rut and went OTB. Damage required 9 stitches to my right arm. Drove back to base and reported to the ER. No doc present, so they had to call the standby. He was quite disgusted–He was an OSU alum and they were playing a big game, so getting called away in the third quarter really got under his skin. He looked me over, had the medtech stitch me up and told me to report one week from Monday to have the stitches removed.

The following Saturday, two days before stitch removal, I’m back on the trail with my buds and, wouldn’t you know it–had an even more violent OTB, the bike flew high into the air, and when it landed, the big ring somehow put a series of deep puncture wounds into my right thigh. I had to rip my shirt into ribbons and join them in near tourniquet fashion just to get the bleeding to slow down. So it was another 2:45 drive back to the ER. Same doc on call and, that was the day of the OSU-Michigan game! Oops! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a human being so mad! He was not gentle!

After finishing the new batch of stitches he stomped out of the room. As I was hopping off the table, he stuck his head around the corner and, with pure red eyes, 😈 screamed at me "Next Saturday, you stay home, sit ON YOUR ASS, and watch football like a normal guy!!!!

That’s funny! So who is he to say what a "normal guy" does? I feel like I fall into the category of a "normal guy" but I don’t watch sports at all. If he didn’t want to do the work he shouldn’t have chosen to be a doctor in the Air Force. My guess is he was the low man on the totem pole and he was picked twice in a row to work the weekend call shift for those hours so he took it out on you. What a titty baby.

Im sorry to hear that man… I hope you’re feeling better.
Lately got some viral pulmonary something, doc says its ok, just needs rest to heal. My wife agrees, I didnt 😃 . Few rides and wheezing into the night later, I finally remember what my doc said…

Oh so I managed to stay off the bike for two weeks now. I think I need to see the doctor for not riding. Anyway still did my race two weeks ago and ready to roll Saturday.
