One of the fun joys of mountain biking for me is adapting your skills throughout the season depending on weather. Here in New England, there’s a solid inch of loose leaves on dang near every path around. I made 5 observations yesterday:
1.) Leaves make turning at high speeds almost impossible.
2.) Despite leaf coverage, the ground is still very hard.
3.) Cleaning pieces of foliage out of your bloody wounds is awesome.
4.) Trying to climb and having your back tire spin out on leaves is oddly humorous if you’re masochistic.
5.) Wiping out in front of a parent and small child is hilarious, especially if you roll onto your feet and bow deeply while saying “graceful and delicate, huh?†-

I usually dont ride the trails when there wet but if its covered with leaves I dont feel as bad. Yeah I might still be leaving a light tread behind but what you cant see doesnt hurt. HAHAHA…. 😆

Haha yeah, I can second what Fitch has said. I sometimes find it fun with the leaves being wet, you get a little slippage. Too much can be a hassle if you’re trying to rip through the trail though.

I should’ve stood up and said "And that, ma’am, is why your child should wear a helmet when bicycling." 😃

About picking pieces of foliage out of wounds:
When my Dad was a boy he ran over his foot with a lawnmower. 😢 Afterwards he kept getting blisters and when he popped them grass came out! 😃
