Whoa, that title was a mouthful–they had my attention at DH bike park! Bailey Mountain Bike Park, located just 20 minutes outside Asheville, NC, is slated to open this June with what they claim is the first year-round, dedicated downhill mountain bike park in North America.

The park will initially open with a shuttle service but eventually plans to add fixed lifts accessing over 20 trails when the park is complete. Plans also include a retail shop with sales and repairs plus on-site concessions. There will also be on-site camping facilities along with residential lots for sale adjacent to the park.

Construction has already begun and the park may be open for preview to small groups of riders by reservation before the bulk of the infrastructure is in place later this year. Here’s what owner and COO Matt Haynes has to say about Bailey Mountain:

Our facility revolves around riders. Our goal is to make the riding venue second to none. The elevation and natural features are spectacular. They are the main reason we chose to develop this piece of land. Once fully evolved, the trails will be a premier riding venue and destination. The only thing better than our riding will be our service.

We’re stoked to see how this progresses, and hopefully we’ll get a chance to hit up Bailey Mountain at some point this summer for a proper review!
