Trail Description
About this trail
Westwoods has some great New England riding, technical rocks/roots. A couple main doubletrack
type trails loops throughout with plenty of singletrack branching off. Trails are well-blazed. Plenty
for everyone here, very technical riding as well as many natural stunt for the free-ride type in you.
The most highly recommended area in the New Haven shoreline area.

Review: Trail is more for advanced raiders. Lots of rocks and narrow single trails. A lot of hike the bike may be the case

Review: Started at the red barns rd trails. This is very rooty on the uphill early on and muddy. Requires a bit of confidence and quick reaction when the trail inevitably forces you off your line. Don't run with clipless on this trail unless you're extremely comfortable quickly/immediately clipping out.

Review: Good variety of features, especially on the main trails (I really liked blue trail). Some of the other trails were extremely technical with many difficult climbs and then narrow downhill sections (pretty much just a bunch of hike-a-bikes). Has been used by many mountain bikers as seen by the occasional log-ride setup and cleared out landing area for cliff drops. I haven't done all of the trails yet, but so far, Ride: Blue Trail, Purple Trail, Red Trail, White Trail Stay away from unless you want to hike: Yellow Trail, Green Trail
