Trail Description
About this trail
Narrow singletrack with climbs, descents, roots and lots of rocks. Some very
sweet technical features on North 40 (log bridge) and Little Big Horn
(jumps, switchbacks, and log bridges.) Rocky Road is, well, rocky but most
others are dirt singletrack.
Recommended route: Luge to Rocky Road to First Right to Gunnar to Julia,
back onto Gunnar to North 40 to Dust Bowl to Little Big Horn to Fred.

Review: Van Peenan is my favorite MTB trail system in the area. You can have fun for hours with all the twisting and turning single track trails. Be ready to climb then descend fast then climb again.

Review: Van Peenen is a great place to get lost for the day. So many trails that loop around and through the hill side. Some of the blue/black trails have some narrow paths and steep drop offs. Didn't get to ride all them due to the amount of snow. Can't wait to get back!

Review: Brutal climb to begin with, but the track turns nice and flowy at the top. Its fairly easy to loop everything together. Trails are very well maintained. I don't know why the Fred trail is called Fred, but I think it stands for Freaking Ridiculously Epic Decent. If elevation gains/losses were a determining factor, this would easily be a black diamond.

Similar Trail: Dunning's Springs, Palisades Park, Seven Oaks, Scott County Park
