I rode this trail for the first time and like most trails, there's good and bad. The trail is covered in sticky bushes and briars; my arms and legs are scratched up pretty good. This trail would be unrideable 9 months out of the year. The section on the east side is in the best shape. There are still trees down in places, but this section has good flow and was fun. It's an 8 mile stretch from the picnic area to fire tower road and if I ride again next winter, I'll probably only do that part. Once you cross the fire road and head west, there are more trees down and once you cross the paved road for the last 2.5 miles, there's lot of trees down and the trail doesn't flow as well.
Overall, the trail is smooth and non-technical. But, it can be steep in parts. My GPS showed 1,100 feet of climbing in an 11-mile loop.

This trail would be great if it was well maintained. It currently has many downed trees lying across the trail, low hanging branches, and green briar at shin level. The section of trail east of the rode is in not worth riding. you'll spend almost as much time carrying your bike of downed trees as riding. That being said, section of trail from the tower road to the picnic area is really nice and flowy. If I ride this trail again, I'll probably just hit that section, until the clear out the big logs.

Great Trail, all of it is natural single track, no man made areas except for small bridges in places and the swinging bridge, rocks and roots are everywhere, there are fast sections and very slow sections with short steep climbs, a must ride if in the area.. In summer, it does grow up, Winter is best to ride
