Mountain Biking Starr Mountain

****   Add a review
#122 of 203 mountain bike trails in Tennessee
#6,719 in the world

This trail complex contains approximately 17 miles of trail and a number of forest service roads. It offers riders a variety of opportunities ranging from short loop trails to long overnight rides and provides some spectacular views. Riders may choose Starr Mountain Horse Trail, which follows the crest of Starr Mountain, or Bullet Creek Horse Trail, which passes through the bottomland forest environment along Bullet Creek. For a short, challenging ride, try Burkett Ivens Trail, which takes riders through both forested and rocky terrain. No matter which trail is chosen, riders will be afforded breathtaking views of mountain streams, wildflowers in the forest. The trail is designated for horseback riders. However, hikers and mountain bikers may use the trail at their discretion.

Rider questions

Q: This is actually the equestrian trail complex. I would not recommend it for bikes unless you don't mind interacting with lots of horses. Try the bike trails around Chilhowee instead.
