Trail Description
About this trail
This is a pretty trail that runs along side the scenic river. It is a relatively flat and wide lime gravel path of around 9 miles from end to end. There is some construction to extend the southern end to the fishery loop, and portions of the northern end are closed right now due to a multi-municipality sewer line upgrade project. There is a street by-pass for this northern section. LAMBA is also working on a project to install a singeltrack alongside the trail for the user who likes narrow dirt. Stay tuned...

Review: The bad news for me, it rained all day when I arrived in Cedar Rapids. The good news, I was still able to ride the crushed limestone on this trail. It was too wet to do the singletrack side trails but at least I was able to get a good ride in. Next time . . .

Review: LAMBA has built and maintains a 2 mile section of singletrack beginning just after the entrance from cole street parking lot. This is a fun flowing section of singletrack that is not difficult but offers alot of enjoyment in a beautiful place

Review: Rebuilt after the flood, very well maintained. Not real difficult

Review: This multi-use path is unique in it's point to point nature so close to a relatively large municipal area. While traversing such terrain is pleasant, it is not exactly action-packed (if that is your type of ride). The local mt. bike advocacy group (LAMBA) is working with the property owners to facilitate installation of singletrack in the riparian woodlands adjacent to the trails, a very exiting prospect! Support them here...

Review: Nice flat speed run on a wide crushed limestone fire road trail.
*Update #1* The complete length of the trail has been completed and repaired. There is also a new green singletrack run that was added this year that runs parallel with the main path. The new singletrack adds more fun to this place and makes it much more interesting!

*Update #2* Great place for fat bikes in the "off-season". There are several places near bye where you can rent fat bikes. Well worth checking out for this too.
