Trail Description
About this trail
These trails are ORV double track, and yet they still are a pretty awesome
ride on a mountain bike. From the parking lot, the trail is a loop with a big
section of trail off of it that connects up to the "Tatum Lead" section of the
Pinhoti trail: http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/tatum-lead-
pinhoti.html . In addition, the actual Tatum Lead trail branches off of this
loop as well.

Descending from the Pinhoti, this trail was a totally bomber downhill! The
top starts off pretty wide and not too steep, but there are numerous
whoop-te-doos thrown in to keep the adrenaline pumping! Once you hit
the main ORV loop (we turned right) the trail steepens and gets a whole lot
gnarlier! Rocks are everywhere: big rocks, little rocks, loose baby-head
rocks... definitely lots of loose baby heads. There are several large berms
formed by motos along the way, and you rip down to the trailhead quickly
loosing elevation like mad.

In short: Bring your suspension, and dominate this downhill!

Review: Only go to do the north branch of Rock Creek last time I was there but I will certainly be going back to check out the south branch as well. I'm not a man who normally seeks out torture but, if YOU are, try riding these trails uphill from the parking lot. You better have legs of steel and a great handle of technical, loose, rocky, uphill riding. IMO, these trails would be more fun ridden downhill only. Just wish they were a little longer.

Similar Trail: No comparison.
