Mountain Biking Riverhead - WCRC Trails

The West Coast Riders Club (WCRC) must be a group of gung-ho, gap loving riders because there are gap jumps all over the place on these trails! But if you don't like gaps, don't panic, there is usually an ride-around option.
There is a large map board at the base of the trails. It doesn't show the trail grades and nor do the trail signs when they occur. But if you're an intermediate rider you'll cope with all the trails if you go round the jumps. Expert riders with penchant for gaps will have a blast.
Visitors will have no trouble finding their way around. There is a forestry road going up the middle of the area and all the trails hang off it and come out at the bottom. My favourite trail was a newer one which I think was called "Heavy Metal". It had some great down-swooping berms, nice little table tops and dodgy corners.

30km / 30 mins from the CBD. Take SH16 out West, take a right onto Old North Road. Carry on Old North Road for about 6km where you'll see the trails entrance on the left and a car park on the right. The singletracks app will take you there and google maps recognises "Riverhead Forest Mountain Bike Trails".
