I really really want to give this trail at least 4 stars. Maybe I'm being too critical but there are a few things I didn't like. Let me start by saying the trail is very well maintained and has some really cool purpose-built features like a 12ft rock garden, a skinny bridge, some fun semi-natural pump sections and fun flow! Also, I love how dense the woods are. It feels like a totally different world inside the research triangle.
That being said, I have some complaints. My main complaint is the number of blind corners! This trail really needs a clear "one-way only" direction because there were A few instances that I came around a corner and almost slammed into an oncoming rider. The trails is a bit too small in my opinion. It got worse closer to 5:45-6pm when everyone flocks to the trail for a post-work ride. To me, it feels more like a compact creative beginner/intermediate skills course/mini trail.
I would recommend it to new riders looking to hone their skills and confidence on a trail while being in close proximity to the car.
