Trail Description
About this trail
The Rapaki Track climbs 300 metres over 4km on a very well graded, packed gravel four wheel drive trail that won't stretch your chain. It is the best track from Christchurch city up to Summit Road which runs the length of the Port Hills and is the baseline for numerous bike trails. Hence it's an important link trail. It's very popular with runners and dog walkers as well as mountain bikers.

Review: Does what it needs to do - gets you to the top. Not particularly difficult, an easy cruise up.

Review: I saw bikers going up and down this trail as a fitness ride, but most were going up to Summit Road where the real fun starts on the 40 odd kilometres of great singletrack up there.

Review: Nice way of climbing to the top of the Port Hills, accessible year round, however some of the linking tracks at the top can be closed after wet weather
