Trail Description
About this trail
Trails starts along the forest road and at times merges with it. Fun downhill at the start with the gradual uphill ride just pass what looks like the horse's ear. Which is why I think this trail is called Ponderosa Trail. Once pass the "neck" from a counterclock wise run you can fork further North and explorer other trails in this area.

Review: This is a RIPPING fast trail going East, and an uphill slog going West. I rode it CCW, which seemed like the right choice. The uphill sections go on forever, but the pine forest provides nice scenery, and it's not super steep, just keep spinning. Not a rock or root to be found, just 1 foot wide, high speed singletrack. Not a "flow" trail, as there are no berms or whoops, but one of the more flow"y" trails around.

Review: This is a fun spin through the Ponderosa forests above Tijeras. The trails can get a bit confusing at times and there's plenty of motos in the area on weekends (the trails often merge with and criss-cross the doubletracks that lace the area). It's a great place to ride if you've got the time and inclination to explore and have already ridden the more popular trails in the area. Take the time to stop in at the forest service office on the left just as you pull out of Tijeras. The folks who work there don't always know the trails that well, but they do have maps which may be helpful.
