Ohakune Mountain Road is a hard 16.1km, 1000m vertical climb through various alpine landscapes from the DOC office to the end of the road (at carpark). This is also the start of the National Mountain to Sea track. There are a number of different tramping tracks along the road that can serve as nice detours.
