Mountain Biking Oconee State Park (Sumter National Forest)

*****   Add a review
#50 of 115 mountain bike trails in South Carolina
#3,719 in the world

Oconee has six nature/hiking/biking trails originating in the park. The Oconee Trail, Old Waterwheel Trail and Lake Trail are loop trails within park boundaries. The Hidden Falls Trail and Tamassee Knob Trail are out-and-back trails that begin in the park and travel to U.S. Forest Service property. The park is an access point to the Foothills Trail. The Oconee Connecter Trail connecting Oconee State Park with Oconee Station Falls at Oconee Station Historic Site is a furiously fast DH run approximately 4 miles from the TH at Oconee State Park. Please be responsible with your riding, as this one trail is extremely fast going down Stumphouse Mountain. Rarely do you ever see hikers, but to get back is a 4 mile bike hike back up the mountain unless you shuttle from Oconee State Historic Site back to Oconee State Park. The other trails are pretty sweet and would be rated as aggressive XC to AM by far.
