Trail Description
About this trail
Head down the paved trail. You will see four wooden benches. You want to go in between them. At this point it turns into a dirt trail and heads down a hill that curves to the left.

Review: Poorly marked. I found a couple spots where some junkies had previously been getting a high from spray paint...not a nice feature. Technically challenging.

Review: I love this trail. It is technical very challenging with plenty of roots, tight corners, power climbs, and tight up and downhill turns. It's not a course that I am necessarily going to blaze around on (ampitheatre is great for that) but it is a great course for developing technique and improving one's power and endurance.

Review: Decent trail system, but poorly marked. There are several places where four trails converge and you can't tell where to go. Took the wrong trail several times and thought I was headed out but was actually headed back to he parking lot. That said, the trails were fund to ride, and have some advanced features. I would ride again when in the area.

Review: This is a pretty nice place to ride for as small as it is. I was there 3 hours and got in a grueling 5.75 mile.

Review: in spite of the effort to mark the trail it is still very hard to follow. very technical and slow, not for beginners. had to stop several times to figure out which way to go, but was fun and a good workout.

Review: Nice trail for a very small park. Trails are out behind (North) of the Murdock school. paved path starts in N.W. corner of their parking. As stated you want to ride with the arrows, it flows poorly the other way, and often has very steep drop ins you don't want to try climbing, unless you're just like that ;) Most of the trail follows well but did get turned around some where by 13th hole I think it was, so find a map. It's at least a high intermediate, for many, very tight switch backs, drop ins, sharp climbs, roots, etc. It is pretty scraggly in places, but they've clearly been working on up keep and marking. And they pretty much filled that little valley with trail up and down the hills.

Review: Murdock has been rerouted in a few places and orange color flashes have been added. The trail is routed counter clockwise and is not a novice trail.

Review: I'm relatively new at this, but I was pretty disappointed in the trail this weekend. I didn't quite understand what they meant about the frisbee golf, but some of the holes are cut into the woods and they have paths that cross the MTB trail multiple times. As for the rest of the track, it is very difficult to follow and has many sharp turns with no real areas to let the bike run. I also think that compared to other trails I have been on, that it is poorly maintained, although hardcore bikers may just say it is technical.

Review: As mentioned, the Disc Golf course goes into the woods/trail and has really disturbed it. The trail is pretty technical and was a little above my ability level. I found myself in some trouble a couple of times. Due to the Disc golf, the trail has to cross some clearings now and it can be tough to determine the right path.

Review: Murdock has had a couple reroutes added, and orange colored flashes have been made to show direction. Most of the flashes have been added to the area cut up by the Wabash Disc Club. The trail direction is counter clockwise and is not a novice trail.

Review: The trail has been over run by the Wabash Disc Club. About a 1/3rd of the trail was taken by the club with the permission of the Lafayette Parks Department. If you have ridden this trail ride it again and again. Be sure to go to Lafayette City Parks web site and voice your opinion on massive destruction from the clear cutting for the disc golf fairways.
