I have been a road cyclist and my wife and I are just starting to mountain bike. We have full-suspension bikes and the trails here are great! First of all, if one is looking to get basic practice on a mountain bike and is not in great shape yet, the green (beginner) track is phenomenal. It presents some little challenges for technique and some good rolling hills to get the heart pumping and legs burning a bit. The blue (intermediate) is mostly manageable technical things like rocky areas, some steeper descents, and tighter corners. There are some things that made me think, "holy...that is no intermediate obstacle!" But again, I am really new and only been mountain biking for about 6-9 months; Not quite regularly too. So this makes me think that Valley Vista Trail System is a great place to get my skills up before trying anything too risky. Nonetheless, it is challenging enough to wake one's inner-daredevil.
