Mountain Biking Methven Walkway

Methven is the apres-ski centre for the Mount Hutt skifield and the apres-velo centre for the Mount Hutt Bike Park. I think the golfers stay at their club rooms. There are lots of pubs, cafes and motels plus two supermarkets and a service station.
The Methven Walkway is a flat, easy, one hour circuit around the perimeter of the town. It's quite well marked but get the map from the i-site before you go. The circuit includes some paddock, some singletrack under pine trees including easy features like jumps and swoops, some gravel road alongside a canal, and some highway. There are several gates and styles to cross.
