Trail Description
About this trail
AGAIN THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. Once you park at the trailhead (Tom's house) prior to heading out on your ride go to Tom's front door, there is a disclaimer and waiver form to sign..Read it, it's pretty funny. Okay now the trail. Leave Tom's house south and you'll see an old bike leaing up against a tree pointing west, this is the beginning of the trail if you ride counter-clockwise. Once on the trail just follow the trail and at any junction that may confuse you there is an old bike pointing the direction of the route. This trail is probably the best trail within a 50 mile radius. All singletrack with plenty of bailout areas with an easy access road ride back to the trailhead. There is a rock garden, hills (ups and downs), roots and trees to make this a fun trail to ride. With a bonus after you are done with your ride!!

Review: Fun trail that winds through the woods south of Rolla. The trail is on private property yet still gets ridden regularly. You will never see so much moss covering the tread and sides of another trail. Beautiful to ride through, especially in winter. If only it was double the length. Maybe someday . . .

Review: The landscape is beautiful. I would use this trail for more of a casual out and back type of ride. The description felt a bit misleading, as I found no particularly challenging sections on the trail. Much of the trail was covered in a thick moss, and seemed to be a bit damp at the time, making the ride noticeably more strenuous and suggesting it gets little use.

Review: This is what Ozark Mountain MTB is all about! The trail is incredible and well maintained. It is marked well so you always have confidence you are on track (follow the bikes if you ride counter-clockwise as my map photo shows). One trick I learned later for the bail-outs is that the trikes always point the easy way down the log road back to start. Depending on your definition of beginner, rider beware. These trails are tight, rocky, and steep in many places. My beginner partner turned back a tenth of a mile in and made the right decision. The owner later took her on a private ride along the easier log roads that absolutely made her day as she was feeling humbled by the early experience. The trail does not hold water, due to all the rocks and the steep grades, so unless it's just right after a downpour you can ride the trail just about anytime. The rock garden is tough, but not impossible!

Review: I had the pleasure of riding this trial for the first time just the other evening, and the previous reviews aren't selling it short... this trail is FUN. Yes it's rocky, yes there are long climbs, yes it's tight, but wow are the downhill runs worth it! Oh, and the after ride wind down isn't too shabby either. Overall, it's a great trail, in a great location, with a great atmosphere. You owe it to yourself to come out on a Wednesday afternoon and give it a shot. Be prepared to work hard, and be prepared to get rewarded BIG! You won't be sorry!

Review: This trail was awesome however we did not get to ride it all because it was getting dark. Can't wait to ride it again. There is some good elevation change and some narrow passageways. Ontop of that lots of roots and rocks, fun, fun.

Review: This trail is without a doubt the best trail in the area! It is on private property and only opened up on Wednesdays to the public. It sheds water and is maintained by the landowner and a few others that ride it regularly. The added benefit to riding this trail is afterwards, Tom usually gets a fire going and the usuals bring food and drink and socialize for the rest of the evening. The trail is not too technical but has some areas that require some skill. AWESOME trail!! One more time, this is private land so be respectful and you'll find that Tom is very friendly to the biking community and may invite you out for other rides.
