Trail Description
About this trail
Little Bennett Park has over 20 miles of natural surface trails - however,
about half of them are off limits to mountain bikers. This park has a lot of
tough hills to climb and quick downhills. There are 10+ separate trails for
MTN biking within the park, so it is easy to change the length of your ride if
needed.

Where some trails say you should wait 24 hours after rain to ride, however,
due to the heavy foliage on this trail you will need to wait 48-72 hours to
ride this trail. In addition, keep in mind that this trail is shared with horses,
so watch the trail for some little treats they leave behind.

Review: This is an easy trail but rides fun at speed. It has a couple technical sections and good downhills, but it also requires some time on maintenance trails to add enough miles to make it worthwhile. It's got a few fun sections and it's worth the stop if you're driving by, but I wouldn't consider it a destination trail.

Review: Overall this was a fun place to do a loop. Trail was pretty dry, but the mud holes were mud holes. A couple of drainage points could easily help. As this is a double wide trail with not to much technical, it is an ideal place for new riders and possibly for future NICA riding. It would be nice to see with the new rule changes in MoCo if the other side of the park will open up. This could become a destination for MD riders if some added mileage and technical aspects.

Similar Trail: Schaffer Farms

Review: There haven't been any reviews in the past two years about Little Bennett but this place is great! Challenging yet not real technical. There are roots and rocks similar to Schaeffer Farm and a couple of thigh burning climbs but overall very nice single track throughout. Be aware if entering near Hyattsville Mill as you will need to ford the stream.

Review: Wow much better than I expected really fast flowing trail sections. I'll ride again for sure I enjoyed the ridge lines and elevation change with some Rocky bits.

Review: Definitely more for horses than for bikers. Small trail system. Haven't ridden in a while but remember odd gravel sections. You'll want to park off of Clarksburg road and attack from there.

Review: Major changes in 2011 I'd call it an intermediate trail. A couple of nice climbs, one awesome downhill and lots of twisty and flowy singletrack. Last ride I did there was Nov 2012... 14 miles total.

Review: Did a MORE night ride here. Lots of doubletrack and wide grassy trails. Area gets lots of horse traffic. No major climbs or decents. I was always looking for some jumps, but there were none. No logs and no dabs.

Review: DO NOT TAKE KINGSLEY ROAD - TAKE CLARKSBURG ROAD (it will take you to the same spot) However, Kingsley road is NOT actually a public road. I just completed this trail over Easter weekend. The trail itself could be good, however, in many places it has been destroyed by horses that used the trail this spring when it was wet. There are quite a few incredibly tough hills, but unfortunately the down hills are not very entertaining. Not technical for MTN biking as I believe that the trail is made mostly equestrian riding.
