Trail Description
About this trail
recomended route: Mt. Misery trail (although there is no Mt.) By far the best trail, but nothing for any adrenaline junkies unless we like distance riding- you can cover the 30 mi. in 4-5 hrs if you bust you ass.
The trails are pretty flat, flatter than my ex- girlfriend, but decent for a family, or a person need to shed some weight. But you need some bug spray cause those damn flies don\'t give up. There are carnivorous plants which are pretty cool and some of the swamps are pretty crazy, but pine trees as far as the eye can see. There are some (stress some) cool things but you have to look for them.

Review: This trail system has potential, but as of now its not great. Being south jersey it is sandy, very sandy. There is only a little bit of single track, while most of it is straight fire roads. The single track sections are completely overgrown. It was so bad in sections I had to get off the bike and walk through. Go to Wharton state forest or Alliare.

Review: Decent trails here, as NJ goes. Very flat, of course. I park at headquarters and ride the red trail to Pakim Pond, then pick up the Mt. Misery Trail. It's about a 15-mile loop. (Not sure why this site says 30 miles.) It's mostly in pine forest, with some sandy areas, though not a ton, and one section crossing bogs on elevated berms. Mt. Misery is kind of a joke, since there's no mountain. You'll probably be by yourself the whole ride. I often see no one the entire time. I like the seclusion, though it can be a problem: I've busted my derailleur TWICE on this trail when sticks went through them, and once had to walk from a remote section. Don't ride in warm months or you'll get ticks and chiggers galore.
